Our goal

Remain is a Swedish, research-based health brand founded by doctors, researchers and innovators with the goal of extending healthy lifespan.

Our products are based on ingredients with documented evidence, dosed according to the studies they are based on. Every claim we make is supported by original sources — not marketing.

From A to D

From A to D

Ingredients can be sorted into four evidence levels based on study quality, dose logic and reproducibility. The difference between the levels determines whether a product actually does what it claims — or not. Here's how we grade them.

From A to D
1

A — Strong evidence, strong effect

Robust, repeated human studies with mapped dose-response and low individual variation. Works for virtually everyone, provided the dose matches the studies. Examples: creatine, omega-3 (EPA/DHA), magnesium, electrolytes.

2

B — Meaningful effect, context dependent

Clear effects in research, but the outcome depends on who uses them and how. Requires the right dose, right duration and right target group. Examples: citicoline, rhodiola, L-theanine, collagen peptides.

3

C — Weak effect or inadequate dosing

The ingredients may have effect in theory, but studies are limited or doses in commercial products too low for physiological relevance. "Should work" but rarely does in practice.

4

D — Trend-driven or lacks evidence

The marketing is stronger than the science. Effects are vague, studies weak or non-existent. This is where the "snake oil" impression in the industry arises.

CITE — metoden behind every decision at Remain

Products work when biology and behavior meet. CITE is our framework for building products, content and tools that support both — based on why health attempts often fail, and what makes them succeed.

Joakim Sjöquist

Founder

Joakim Sjöquist

Engineer with nearly ten years of experience as a full-stack developer. After losing his father to cancer at age 20 — and with a mother who today lives with Alzheimer's — Joakim has built his work around a single goal: preventive health, before it's too late.

He founded Remain after seeing the same frustration in the supplement industry over and over again: big promises, weak evidence, underdosed formulations. The frameworks that govern Remain today — from the evidence hierarchy to CITE — are his answer to that. When Dr. Björn Alber came on board, the foundation gained its medical grounding.

Joakim also leads the Remain Podcast, where the same principle applies as in the products: research over opinion.

This we never do

This we never do

Evidence-based health is as much about what you choose to exclude as what you include. Four things we consistently say no to.

Ingredients without evidence

Category C and D ingredients never have a place in our products — regardless of how well they sell.

Underdosed formulations

Doses that don't reach physiologically relevant levels. An underdosed A-ingredient is just more expensive.

Transformation Promises

We promise no results. We provide nutrition — what the body does with it is determined by you.

One Study Is Never Enough

We show all studies behind a claim — not just the most flattering one.
